Following the National Trust's dictatorial attempt to impose restrictions and
generate anti-nudist hysteria, a guerrilla campaign erupted, with angry nudist
activists, styling themselves Coalition Opposing National
Trust Restrictions At Studland or 'CONTRAS'.
CONTRAS lead public attacks on
the offending posts by leafleting beach users and writing letters to papers, the National
Trust, English Nature and MPs.
CONTRAS called for an open meeting at 2pm on 1st July to decide how nudists
should react.
