Recruitment - SUN members could distribute application forms
June 1998
Dear Sun,
Many thanks for sending me Red Posts in the Sand and copies of newsletters
2, 3 and 4. Red Posts is very good and I'm looking forward to future cartoons by
Ricky.
It's marvellous that SUN's membership has increased by so many in such
a short period of time - there's often strength in numbers and strong support
and backing can be very important in a struggle against a large organisation
such as the National Trust. What's happening at Studland could happen anywhere else in the
country tomorrow - attempts could be made to restrict naturists. SUN's example,
though, would almost certainly act as a deterrent to such an attempt, by showing
that it could be met by strong resistance and a lengthy uphill struggle to try
and achieve a result.
I wonder if SUN's recruitment drive might be helped by suggesting in
the newsletter that SUN members distribute application forms (and perhaps the
latest update) at naturist beaches and clubs they go to across the country. This
would have the additional benefit of letting people know that their beach area
could unexpectedly be in danger. Forewarned is forearmed!
