Broadleaf woodland devastated
June 1998.
Roy Ellis of Poole reflects the feelings of a great many people:
Dear Sun,
I have written to Studland PC, the Editor of BN Magazine and Mark
Harold of the National Trust, telling them that the naturist area is enjoyed by a lot of
people, myself included. This is 1998, not 1898 as they seem to
think. The broadleaf woodland has been devastated, it looks as if a bomb has
been dropped! (see
Gallery)
It
wouldn't have been so bad if they'd cleared it up a bit, but it just looks a
mess now. Everyone who uses the path on the beach side (Heather
Walk - Ed.) has to watch where they're walking, it's treacherous
underfoot and partly flooded and you can only walk in single file, but the path
on the other side of the woodland is nice and wide and clear of brambles, roots
and bushes so people - particularly those with children - can walk together,
which is much nicer, and take more notice of their surroundings.
I think the National Trust are in cloud cuckoo land.
